The role of the Police Board is to provide governance, budgetary control and policy direction to the Central Saanich Police Service. The Board is the employer of the Chief Constable and all other employees of the Central Saanich Police Service. Police Board meetings are held in the Council Chambers on the second Thursday of each month. The meeting is open to the public at 9:15 a.m.
Mayor Jack Mar Mr. Mar was elected as the Mayor of Central Saanich in November of 2005. He is a long time resident who always has time for this community's concerns. His Worship serves as the Chair of the Board as per Statute.
Andrew Harcomb Mr. Harcomb is a Conservation Scientist with the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Previously, he was the Manager, Biologist for the BC Ministry of Environment. Within his community, he has formerly served as a City Councillor and sat on various committees for Central Saanich. He is a member of the BC Institute of Agrology and the College of Applied Biology. Mr. Harcomb has his Bachelor and Masters of Science from the University of Victoria.
Steve McNally Mr. McNally is the Director of Audit Services for the BC Pension Corporation. He holds a Certified General Accountant designation, which he obtained in 2000, having previously qualified as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant in the UK. His career includes 13 years in local government internal audit positions. Steve is currently a member of the Board of Governors for the Vancouver Island chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Thomas Kouk Thomas Kouk’s career in marketing and communications includes extensive experience in retail, education, arts, government and tourism. He was the owner and manager of Canadian art store operations in Banff and Winnipeg, Government Affairs Manager for the Winnipeg Chamber Of Commerce, and served as a director of the Travel and Tourism Industry Associations of Manitoba and Alberta. He was Director of Communications and Marketing for the Banff Centre for several years. While in Banff he was elected as a municipal councilor, was President of the Banff-Lake Louise Chamber of Commerce and served as Chairman of the Banff Social Services Board and Vice-Chairman and head of the finance committee of the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital. He was also active in volunteer positions with The Canada Council and The Calgary Stampede and currently is serving on the boards of the Peninsula Minor Hockey Association, the CRD Arts Advisory Council and the Central Saanich Police Board.
