| Regional Crime Unit (RCU) |

The Central Saanich Police Service participates in the Regional Crime Unit, which is an integrated unit established in 2008 to proactively target the region’s most prolific offenders. The RCU is a partnership between agencies and also includes officers from Saanich and Oak Bay Police Departments, West Shore RCMP, and the provincial RCMP. The Regional Crime Unit exists to enhance the capacity of local police agencies to investigate and prosecute those offenders who are responsible for a disproportionate amount of street level crime. Our participation in a full-time unit dedicated to identifying repeat offenders and investigating their crimes has made a significant contribution to reduced crime and increased public safety in the region.
