If you are renewing a permit please attach your previous permit(s). Please allow two weeks for the permit to be processed. You will be contacted when your permit is ready for pick up. Permit holders must contact CSPS on the days they intend to discharge their firearm.

Special Occasion Licence (SOL)

The police in Central Saanich must approve all SOLs issued in the municipality.  Generally if you are planning to host an event, where liquor will be served or sold, you must obtain an SOL from the Liquor Branch.  The application for SOL is first completed and taken to the police station, during office hours, for approval prior to the licence being issued by the liquor branch.  Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A police supervisor will check the SOL application for the type of event being held, the location, the amount of liquor being served or sold, the hours of the event, and the expected number of guests attending the event.  Please allow seven clear days, prior to the planned event, for the police to approve your SOL.  If you planned that the function will be held in a municipal owned facility, a copy of an approved facility use permit must accompany the SOL application.  SOLs will not be issued for an event where the applicant plans to serve home brewed products, such as wine or beer.  For more information on completeting your SOL application, check with the local liquor store manager or SOL Policy on-line.
