Central Saanich, BC

Following a lengthy, multijurisdictional investigation on Vancouver Island by the Central Saanich Police Service, Thomas “Bruce” Calverley (AKA Bruce Peterson) was arrested on February 29th, 2024. On May 21st, 2024, the following charges were laid:

• 2 counts of Fraud over $5000 contrary to section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• 2 counts of Fraud under $5000 contrary to section 380(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
• 1 count of Theft of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 334 of the Criminal Code

Property was recovered as a result of this investigation, including a stolen vehicle which was returned to its owner.

As of this date Calverley remains in custody.

The Central Saanich Police Service is releasing this information for public awareness and encouraging any other victims of fraud to make a report to their local police department.
