On Tuesday January 2, 2018, Tristan Gentile was sworn-in as a member of the Central Saanich Police Service in front of many family, friends and colleagues. Tristan first became part of the CSPS family as a Reserve Constable from June 2014 to 2016. He was then hired on by another local police service and completed his municipal constable training at the Justice Institute of B.C. in March 2017. Eager to return to serve in his own community, Tristan was the successful candidate on the most recent exempt constable competition for Central Saanich. Tristan was born and raised in Central Saanich and has a lengthy history of community service that includes seven years as a Central Saanich Volunteer Fire Fighter, several years planning and marshaling for the Brentwood Bay Festival Parade, and assisting with organizing “Music in the Bay” – Barney Bentall’s Grand Cariboo Express Food Bank Fundraiser Concert series. His previous employment involved work in carpentry and construction for local businesses. He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, camping, hunting and fly-fishing. We feel very lucky to have a dedicated and community minded individual join our police family and we hope he enjoys a long, safe, career with us.
