At 00:50 hours on September 12, 2024, a Central Saanich Police Service member in a marked police vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle collision near the intersection of Hovey Road and Wallace Drive. The member was extracted from the vehicle with the assistance of Central Saanich Fire Department. No members of the public were involved and the officer is currently in a stable condition. The cause is being investigated.
