The Central Saanich Police Service (CSPS) is seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded professional to serve as our Digital Media and Communications Coordinator.

This flexible contract position is ideal for an experienced communications professional, journalist, marketer, social media specialist, or public relations practitioner who is passionate about community engagement and public service.

As the face behind much of our public communications, you will help showcase the work of our officers and staff, celebrate community partnerships, share public safety information, and strengthen trust and transparency through effective storytelling.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and manage social media content across multiple platforms
  • Create visually engaging graphics, videos, and digital content
  • Draft media releases, public safety bulletins, and community updates
  • Attend community events, ceremonies, and special initiatives to capture content
  • Promote recruitment campaigns and organizational initiatives
  • Assist with communication strategies during major incidents or public information campaigns
  • Monitor social media trends and community engagement opportunities

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an individual who possesses:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing social media platforms and digital content
  • Strong photography, videography, and graphic design abilities
  • Creativity and sound judgment
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • A passion for community engagement and public service
  • Experience in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field

Casual Position Flexible hours based on organizational needs and planned projects.
